One night down . . .

Whew, this past week was super busy for me at work. I'm hoping for a little lighter load this next week. Anyway, we set up Kerensa's big bed yesterday. Last night went okay. She generally sleeps from between 7 and 8 pm to between 7 and 8 am. She is a great sleeper! Last night, though, she woke up crying around midnight. Probably because of the unfamiliarity. Then she ended up falling out of bed around 5:30 am. There was no real going back to sleep after that. We did have her crib mattress on the floor next to her, and she didn't hurt herself or anything. It was just hard for her (or us) to go back to sleep after that. We've added pillows to the mattress beside her bed for this evening, so she'll have even more cushion. She definitely likes the bed though. Even after she fell out, I asked her if she wanted to get back in bed, and she nodded yes. I asked her today if she missed her crib, and she nodded yes to that too, which made me a bit sad!

While we are going to make more changes to her room, here's the angle with her bed. I bought the frame off craigslist, and we got the mattress set on a closeout special. It's really comfy. I moved her nightstand next to her bed and moved the mattress off the floor for these pictures.

Cute bed! She looks so proud of it. :) Don't worry--she'll adjust. After a few nights, her body will remember where the edges of the bed are, even in her sleep. We threw pillows on the floor to catch Caleb, and I think he's fallen out maybe two or three times total.

Way to go, Kerensa!
