Cuteness

It never ceases to amaze me how cute my daughter is! I'm sure all parents feel this way, but as a new parent, I didn't know that I would find almost everything she does adorable. What follows is a sampling of recent cuteness.

She can reach all the drawers in the house now. One of the finds she came across in her pursuit to pull everything out of said drawers was Ryan's duck call. Ever since she found it, we have been trying to show her how it works. I'm proud to say she can successfully call those ducks now!

This past weekend Kerensa and I were home alone for awhile. I was busy in the kitchen, and she wandered down to her room. Usually she comes back out shortly with a handful of pacifiers (out of her crib), her blanket, or a giant stuffed pooh bear. This time she didn't come right back. I figured she was just engaged in one of her favorite pastimes, i.e., pulling her clothes off the shelves in the closet, so I thought I'd better go check on her. When I got to her room, I found that she had managed to climb into her rocking chair (not a child-sized one), had gotten herself a book, and was sitting there pleased as punch with herself. It was adorable!

One of the sweetest things she has started doing in the last three or four days is actually giving you a kiss when you tell her good night. We thought it was a fluke because she hasn't ever consistently given kisses when you ask for them, but it isn't! So long as she knows she's about to go to bed, if you tell her good night she will open her mouth and come straight for you (you don't even have to lean in)!

I have always enjoyed twirling with her (think of Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail and her story about her mother) and sitting down when we are both dizzy. Well she has started doing that on her own. She will just start turning around in circles and then go over to the couch and flop over or just lay down on the floor. Again, adorable!!

The pictures that follow are of our trip to a pumpkin farm, her first time in a backpack, and her attempt to talk on the phone.

Here's a video that just shows Kerensa playing with one of her favorite toys. When it plays a song, she moves her arms to the music, which is why you see her start to wave them at one point.
