A whirlwind of travel

So the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. What that meant for our recent trip was the deposition ended up being canceled for reasons outside of my control. We decided to go anyway, and we had a great time. We went down to San Antonio to begin with to see Ryan's sister, her husband, and two adorable kids who had never even met Kerensa. While there, we went to the Alamo, the riverwalk, and the zoo. Here's a picture of the three kiddos in the courtyard of the Alamo:

Kerensa really enjoyed meeting her cousins! The San Antonio zoo was great and the weather was just right! I'm not sure what Kerensa's favorite part was, but the butterfly area captured her attention. Here's a family pic of us at the entrance to the zoo, and one of Kerensa looking at some fish/birds:

It was hard to say goodbye after a few short days, but we had a long drive ahead to Little Rock. We had hoped to make it to the border, but decided to stop 30 to 40 miles outside of Dallas because traffic had slowed us down quite a bit. We found a great hotel with suites that consisted of two rooms. We tried out the indoor pool the following morning, but that didn't last too long. Kerensa decided she liked the hot tub better (note to concerned readers - I only put my feet in).

We got to Little Rock as planned on Saturday and met up with several friends we've missed since moving away. We hung out at the park, and Kerensa went crazy on the play equipment. I thought I'd snapped a better picture, but here she is at the bottom of the bigger slide which she went down more times than I could count. Seems she no longer has any hesitancy with slides.

It was nice worshipping at our old church, and Kerensa amazingly sat through Bible class and some of children's church without my presence. She had so many little friends to play with, and we all had a ton of fun at small group that evening! I should've snapped some pictures, but slacked off a bit! We had a big play group Monday morning. I thought the following photo of Kerensa and Asher was adorable - they are only 1 day apart!
Later that day we headed over to Searcy to meet up with friends and take a look at Harding's changes. There have been quite a few! Kerensa particularly enjoyed the fountains and running down the hall of the newly remodeled Heritage hotel. Here's us and our good friends Carl and Cheryl in front of one of the fountains:

The next day we packed up again and headed back to Dallas. We spent the night with Ryan's aunt and uncle who are always great hosts and flew out the following day. In all, we kept busy and tried to see everyone we could. We are so glad we went and hope to do it again without letting as much time pass. For those of you reading this that we visited with, thank you so much for spending time with us! It was great to see you! In closing, I want to thank Dwayne and Laura for giving us free room and board for several days along with good eats! Here's a picture of us I reappropriated:

Dwayne and Ryan together are a hoot, and I laughed harder than I have in a while! We'd be happy to return the favor sometime, and that offer is extended to any of you Levyites (for lack of a better word :P) who want to visit the Northwest.

Looks like you guys had a wonderful time! And I can definitely see the family resemblance between those cousins. How fun--thanks for sharing your photos!
