Summer fun

Unsurprisingly, this blog is in dire need of an update! As always, I am incredibly busy at work, and anymore once Kerensa goes to bed, I am completely devoid of any ability to hold coherent thoughts. Well, I suppose I could if I tried, but that takes effort.

Anyway, we are fortunate to live near a number of parks, and as time and weather have permitted this summer, we've visited a number of them on weekends. I haven't always taken my camera because sometimes you just want to "do" and not "capture," but what follows is a sampling of recent excursions.

So, hiking with kids doesn't really count as hiking. The backstory in the above pictures is that Kerensa kept picking her own path, getting way far away from us, and then finally deciding to run back to where we were. I was reminded several times of the introduction to little house on the prairie where the kids are running down a hillside; fortunately, Kerensa didn't take any spills.

After a traditional cookout on the 4th and nap time, we went to feed the ducks at Manito Park. Kerensa had a blast feeding the ducks and catfish, and we went through a whole loaf of bread! As you can see, she ate a few bites herself.

These last two shots are from this past weekend. It only took Kerensa about 20 to 25 minutes to put more of her body in the water than just her feet/ankles. There were quite a few kids in the wading pool with her, and I think she mostly enjoyed watching them.

Great pictures! I especially love the ones of her feeding the ducks--she's got a great throwing arm there! :)
